What is BO ID in Zerodha?

BO ID stands for Beneficiary Owner Identification Number. It is an 8-digit number used to identify a unique demat account held with the depository (CDSL) through your Depository Participant (DP). It is required when applying for IPOs and generating the CDSL TPIN for holdings authorisation.

Zerodha is a discount broker in India. It is one of the most popular brokers in the country, with over 7 million customers. Zerodha offers a variety of trading products and services, including demat accounts, trading platforms, and research tools.

This BO ID is 16 digits long and consists of two parts:

  • The first 8 digits are the DP ID.
  • The last 8 digits are the client ID.

Steps to get BO ID in Zerodha

Here are the steps to get your BO ID in Zerodha:

  1. Log in to your Zerodha account. You can do this by going to the Zerodha website or opening the Zerodha Kite mobile app.
  2. Click on your name in the top right corner of the screen. This will open a drop-down menu.
  3. Click on “My Profile.” This will open your profile page.
  4. Scroll down to the “Demat” section. Your BO ID will be displayed under the “BO ID” label.

Here are some other things to know about BO IDs:

  • Your BO ID is unique to you and your demat account.
  • You will need your BO ID to apply for IPOs.
  • You will need your BO ID to generate your CDSL TPIN.
  • Your BO ID is not the same as your demat ID.
  • Your BO ID is not the same as your Zerodha account ID.
