Is Upstox lifetime free

Upstox is one of the most popular online trading platforms in India, offering a range of investment products to its customers. As a potential investor or trader, one of the most important questions you might be asking is whether Upstox is lifetime free. In this article, we’ll answer that question and provide you with some additional information about Upstox’s pricing and features.

What is Upstox?

Upstox is a popular online trading platform in India that allows investors and traders to buy and sell stocks, derivatives, and other financial instruments. The platform offers a range of features, including real-time market data, trading charts, and customizable watchlists. Upstox also provides a mobile app for on-the-go trading and offers customer support through various channels, including email, phone, and live chat.

Is Upstox Lifetime Free?

The short answer is no, Upstox is not lifetime free. While Upstox offers some features and services for free, such as account opening, trading account maintenance, and market data, there are fees associated with certain services and transactions.

For example, Upstox charges brokerage fees for every transaction you make on its platform. The brokerage fees vary depending on the type of investment product you trade and the trading volume you generate. Upstox also charges fees for other services, such as call and trade, margin funding, and SMS alerts.

However, it’s worth noting that Upstox’s brokerage fees are relatively low compared to other online trading platforms in India. Upstox charges a flat fee of Rs. 20 per trade or 0.05% of the transaction value, whichever is lower. This means that you can save a lot of money on brokerage fees if you trade frequently or in large volumes.

In addition to brokerage fees, Upstox also charges fees for account-related services such as account closure, dematerialization, and rematerialization of shares. These fees are not very high and are in line with industry standards.

Upstox Account Types

Upstox offers two types of trading accounts: Upstox Basic and Upstox Pro. Upstox Basic is a free trading account that provides access to basic trading features such as market data, trading charts, and customizable watchlists. Upstox Basic also offers free trading in the Equity Delivery segment, which means you can buy and sell stocks in this segment without paying any brokerage fees.

On the other hand, Upstox Pro is a paid trading account that offers advanced trading features such as advanced charting, customizable workspaces, and algorithmic trading. Upstox Pro also offers trading in multiple segments such as Equity Intraday, Futures, Options, and Currency Derivatives. Upstox Pro charges a subscription fee of Rs. 249 per month, which is waived off for traders who generate a certain amount of brokerage in a month.

Upstox Demat Account

To trade on Upstox, you need to have a demat account. A demat account is a digital account that holds your stocks and other investment products in electronic format. Upstox offers a demat account through its partnership with CDSL, one of the leading depositories in India. Upstox’s demat account is free of charge, and there are no annual maintenance charges (AMC) for the first year. From the second year onwards, Upstox charges an AMC of Rs. 300 per year, which is relatively low compared to other online trading platforms.

Upstox Customer Support

Upstox offers customer support through various channels, including email, phone, and live chat. Upstox’s customer support team is available from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and on Saturdays from 9:

Upstox’s customer support team is available from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The customer support team is known for their quick response time and helpfulness. Upstox also offers a knowledge center on their website, which includes articles, videos, and FAQs to help traders and investors understand the platform and the investment products available.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Upstox is not lifetime free, but it offers some services and features for free, such as account opening, trading account maintenance, and market data. However, there are fees associated with certain services and transactions, such as brokerage fees, account-related fees, and fees for advanced trading features. Upstox’s brokerage fees are relatively low compared to other online trading platforms in India, and the platform offers a range of investment products and trading features to suit different trading styles and preferences. Upstox also offers a demat account through its partnership with CDSL, which is free of charge and has low AMC fees. Overall, Upstox is a great option for traders and investors looking for a reliable and affordable online trading platform in India.
